On the first Monday in October, The Taste of Eatonton takes the stage for one night only and lights up the evening with mouth-watering food and fun, leaving no attendee in hunger. The event offers tastings from over 20 area eateries from Eatonton and surrounding communities, a silent auction and raffle. These tasty treats are displayed under tents pitched on the expansive green lawn in front of the historic Plaza Arts Center. This is not the event to try to resist temptation. As the night rolls along, settle in to enjoy company of friends and family, along with outstanding food, beer and wine.
In one night, at one location, you can enjoy the tastiest food the region has to offer. As you mingle with friends and family, be sure to check out the silent auction tables and raffle. There really is something for everyone at the silent auction. Bring your appetite on Monday as you will be sure to leave with a full belly and perhaps, a new favorite restaurant or two!
Briggs and a few of his buddies (Drew, Stu and Spencer) learned to wakeboard this weekend from pro Ben Watts!! The Ritz Carlton Lodge and Singleton Marine hosted a wakeboarding school and exhibition this weekend on Lake Oconee. There were lots of beautiful wakeboarding boats in the water and several talented wakeboarders showing us their stuff! It was another great weekend on Lake Oconee!!
Blake Adams, Eatonton native and regular on the PGA tour, has agreed to host a golf tournament for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Cuscowilla golf rsort on Lake Oconee..
Adams will host the third annual Lake Oconee FCA Golf Classic Sept. 24 at Cuscowilla Golf Club.
Randall Harman, director of the FCA for a five-county area around Lake Oconee, said Adams asked the organization how he might be able to assist in its local efforts.
Adams is in his third year on the PGA Tour.

He still has a Cuscowilla Golf Club logo on his tour bag calling it his “home away from home.” He lives in Swainsboro with his wife and two children.
FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America. Lake Oconee FCA focuses on the five-county area.
Other than the yearly banquet, the golf tournament is the only fundraiser for this chapter. The tournament will feature lunch served by Chik- fil-A and dinner by Georgia Butts.
The tournament will have limited spots. . Anyone who can outdrive Adams also will win a prize.

Dear Members of the Club at Reynolds Plantation:
I am very happy to announce that MetLife has successfully closed on the purchase of Reynolds Plantation as of August 1, 2012.
Through the efforts of an amazing Reynolds Plantation staff, the energies and support of the Board of Governors, the RIPOC Board of Managers, numerous committee members, and the Receiver, the transition has been an overwhelming success. In just three weeks, support of the new Club has already resulted in a net increase in total memberships from the previous Club.
Such strong support could not be a more resounding affirmation of the membership’s love of the Club at Reynolds Plantation and the enjoyment of its unique lifestyle, amenities, and committed staff. On behalf of MetLife and Daniel Corporation, I wish to extend our sincere thanks for your confidence and support.
Importantly, this is not the end of the transition but merely the beginning. We are excited to begin working together to ensure Reynolds Plantation achieves the fullest potential of its unparalleled collection of golf courses, amenities, and facilities.
Here’s to many great times ahead for the Club at Reynolds Plantation.
